Patzcuaromex.com             Take a water taxi on a misty morning across the water hyacinth filled lake and this island appears like a ghost. The entire island is a series of stairs lined with wonderful little shops, restaurants and stalls. It is stepping back in time since nothing much has changed here in hundreds of years. Vibrant colors, the statue at the apex of the island, the views and the butterfly fisherman on the lake are just surreal. You could easily spend the day here exploring.   I love walking and what a better place than the Isle of Janitzio, the place of no cars. Yes, no buses, cabs or vehicles. Take the boat from several locations around Lake Patzcuaro. I prefer the muelle (boat dock in Patzcuaro) and walk up hill to the best views of the Lake. Stone’s Throw Away is a growing collection of emerging artists curated by Piera Bernhard. The project began in 2018. Its first bi-annual book publication will be printed in June followed by the second in December. Submissions are accepted year-round. What is an artists' publication? An artists' publication is a series or collection of works published independently by the artist or a group of artists. The books includes imagery, text and poetry stemming from a variety of mediums and subject matter. I have created an online database to host my books' content. It acts as a gallery for those artists featured in the small (about 30 page) books that are published twice a year. Shutter speed is very important in most of my photos. Since I do a lot of landscape and action photography, I have to always worry about shutter speed. In Landscapes I usually do long exposures, which is leaving the shutter open for an extended amount of time.
